Letter from the editor We are excited. We have lots in store for
our readers and stakeholders this year. We
are increasing capacity with top new staff
bolstering our award-winning team. And our
online presence is also going to be something
to watch out for. Your 2010 RISKSA – better
editorial, bigger reach and more relevant
than ever – all wrapped in the classiest
design package around.
We spent the first three working days
of the year down in the Klein Karoo on
our annual bosberaad polishing our offering
for 2010. We didn’t spend much time
on the actual planning – we had already
wrapped our 2010 game plan up long before
the holidays. We spent the time focussing
on ways to make it even easier for our
stakeholders to interact with us. When
it came time to leave the farm, our team
had a clear idea not just of their role
in our business, but more importantly of
how each one of us is the custodian of
our brand.
Making it easy for people to transact
with government institutions is an uncomplicated
way to bolster compliance to the rules.
The easier it is to submit your tax return,
the more people will submit returns timeously.
Intermediaries are not crooks. They are
not averse to complying with the rules.
Just make it easy for them to interact
with the necessary bodies.
Every time an uninformed government employee
offers nonsensical advice or instruction,
that employee is not just making himself
look like poephol, he is tarnishing his
department’s brand.
Here’s to 2010 – a year of
healthy competition and a general raising
of standards.
Enjoy the read
